FAMILY PROGRAMS

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)

Meets Sundays during the 10:30 mass

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is a program for children ages 5 to 10. They are invited to attend during the liturgy of the word portion of mass. Led by two parent volunteer teachers, they go to a classroom on the ground floor of the school building and will return after about 20 minutes. There, the children will learn about the readings of the day and the gospel, at their own level, and will have the chance to ask questions, sing songs and hear stories. Parents are welcome to tag along.

An Introduction to the Gospel of Matthew with Ron Ryan, D. Min.
Wednesday, December 3 | 7:00 - 8:30 PM | St. John Parish Admin Building

Written in the final years of the first century, the Gospel of Matthew was addressed to a community struggling to make sense out of a changing world—one in which cultures clashed and long-established values were passing away. In Matthew, Jesus reinterprets laws, customs and traditions to reveal new meaning for his disciples. Most importantly, he assures them that he will be with them as they face an uncertain future.

In a time when our own world struggles, the Gospel of Matthew offers us a message of hope. Join us for this one session introduction as Ron Ryan offers an overview of the Gospel we will hear at Mass throughout the new year. There is no registration or fee. Everyone is welcome.
