Heron Habitat Viewing

Saturday, April 5 from 9-11 AM at Commodore Park

Our Parish Family's Saint Francis of Assisi Ministry is sponsoring a Heron Habitat Viewing at the Ballard Locks, on Saturday, April 5 from 9-11 AM at Commodore Park on the Magnolia side of the locks.

St John Parishioner and Heron Habitat Helpers docent, Elizabeth White, will lead the viewing. Bring your binoculars as we learn about herons and their habitat, and get a chance to view herons nesting in the trees in Commodore Park. Children are welcome. Earth Day Screening of The Letter

Our Parish Family's Saint Francis of Assisi Ministry is hosting a screening of The Letter on Earth Day. This documentary, which was released in 2022, tells the story of a journey to Rome of frontline leaders to discuss the encyclical letter Laudato Si’ with Pope Francis.

The exclusive dialogue with the Pope, included in the film, offers a revealing insight into the personal history of Pope Francis and stories never seen since he became the Bishop of Rome.

Come join us on Earth Day 2025, Tuesday, April 22 at the St John the Evangelist Admin building. We will begin at 6:30 with an opening prayer and brief introduction to this extraordinary film. We will then watch The Letter, which is 80 minutes in length. We will conclude with an open discussion of The Letter and reflect on potential next steps.
